At Eniya, we want your rug to stay looking beautiful for years to come. Follow these simple care steps to preserve the quality, colour, and texture of your rug.
General Care
Vacuum regularly using suction only — avoid rotating brushes.
For shaggy or high-pile rugs, shake them out or use a nozzle attachment.
Spot clean light soiling with a damp (not wet) cloth.
Do not machine wash or dry clean unless your rug’s care label allows it.
Spills & Stains
Act quickly — blot (don’t rub) with a dry, absorbent cloth or paper towel.
For mild stains, use a neutral detergent with lukewarm water.
Don’t over-wet the rug, and ensure it dries flat.
For stubborn marks, consult a professional cleaner.
Avoid harsh chemicals, which may damage fibres or dyes.
Shedding & Sprouting
Wool rugs naturally shed fibres — this is normal and will reduce over time.
If longer threads (sprouts) appear, trim them carefully with sharp scissors. Never pull them out.
Creases, Lines & Pile Shading
Crease lines from rolling or storage will ease with use and vacuuming. Try re-rolling the rug in the opposite direction for a few days.
Pile shading (light and dark patches) may occur depending on fibre direction. This is a natural characteristic, not a defect.
Laying Flat & Curling Edges
If your rug won’t lie flat at first, roll it in the opposite direction (pile outwards) and place it somewhere warm for a day or two.
Allow weight and warmth to help it settle.
Rotation & Protection
Rotate your rug every few months for even wear.
Use a rug pad or underlay to prevent slipping and reduce friction.
Keep rugs away from damp areas, direct sunlight, and excessive heat to prevent fading and fibre damage.
Professional Cleaning
Have your rug professionally cleaned every 1–3 years, depending on traffic.
Always choose specialists experienced with fine rugs and natural fibres..
